Comparing the Essays

1.King's essay is very effectively written becuase it appeals to both the logical and the ethical viewpoints of the reader. He does this by showing how descrimination and racial segregation is unfair. On the other hand Thoreau's essay brings up a few good points about how much, if at all we can trust our government. At the same time Thoreau's writting is a lot of pointless repitition ofhis personal viewpoints and that everyone should be brilliant like him.
2.King's essay is much more effective than Thoreau's because it brings a strong sense of logic into the argument, where as Thoreau's essay seems to be a lot of opinions and ideological theories.
3. Both essays are very focused and present major viewpoints of the authors. Although I do feel that King's essay is more relevant an important to this day in society.
4. They both have the potential to be equally effective, but a lot of these essay's impact has to do with the audience and their opinios on the matter.
